How to play Sweep
- Each number counts the mines in the eight cells touching it.
- Tap a cell once to flag a mine, again to mark it clear with an X, again to empty it.
- X marks are just your own notes for cells you have ruled out. On a computer, right-click goes straight to an X.
- Every board can be finished by logic alone, so you are never left guessing.
Your first useful move
Compare a clue’s remaining mine count with its unmarked neighbours. If every remaining neighbour must be a mine, flag them; a satisfied clue lets you clear the others.
