Play Slant puzzles online: rules and solving tips

A whole puzzle built from two simple strokes. Choose a diagonal for each square, then use the numbered dots to work out how those strokes fit together.

An account is needed to play and save your progress.

A zero on the top edge forces both neighbouring diagonals to point away from it.

How to play Slant

  • Put exactly one diagonal in every square.
  • A number tells you exactly how many diagonals must touch that dot.
  • Never make a closed loop. Branches and separate groups of lines are allowed.
  • Fill every square and satisfy every clue to finish.

Your first useful move

Start with a zero. None of the lines around it may touch that dot, so every neighbouring square has a forced direction.

Playing on HubbardGames

Tap a square to cycle through its diagonals, or select a diagonal tool and paint. Use Erase, Undo and Redo when you need to revise a line. Larger boards offer zoom and Pan.

Choose your difficulty

Start with 5×5 Easy boards, then try 8×8 Normal and 10×12 Hard. Library players can also tackle 12×12 Ultra and 15×15 Giga.

Can I practise without affecting the league?

Yes. Choose a puzzle from the Library to practise this game. Library practice does not add league points. You can return to an unfinished puzzle later.
